What is going on with us?

(Sorry this is a long one!)

Well since I didn't have enough foresight to get the camera out while we colored eggs, hid eggs, found eggs, and ate the eggs, there are no pictures with eggs in it this year. Also, the Easter dress picture will just have to wait another week because once again I didn't get the camera out. Quite frankly I have no idea where it is at the moment. OK maybe I have an idea, there are a few places in the house that it could be. I'm sure some of you can understand what it is like when you are selling your house. Things get messy and then you get the call that in 2-3 hours someone would like to look at your house so in that time you grab everything off of the counters and put it somewhere, anywhere so that it is out of sight and the camera just happens to be the victim of the frantic clean up.

Anyways, school is pretty much done for Adam. He has two finals on Thursday and 2 take home finals that are due on Friday. On Saturday is the big day. ADAM GRADUATES. YAY!!!!! The light at the end of the tunnel used to be as big as the pointy part of a needle, now we are standing in the thresh hold (sp?) of the very same tunnel. It is exciting. Bethany will be done with Kindergarten at the end of May and hopefully by then all of the pieces to the puzzle will be in place and we will be on our way.

Emma is 14 months old now and holy molly she is busy. As soon as I get her down from where ever she is climbing she is off to the next climbing spot or to the open door to empty something out. She keeps me on my toes that is for sure. She really surprised us this weekend. If you know my children you know that if they see a stranger or a stranger looks at them they cry...a lot...especially with men. Well this weekend we has some friends over for a graduation party thing and Emma didn't want to sit on Adam's or my lap, she opted for one of the friends. The fastest way to Emma heart is through her stomach. He had tortilla chips and she wanted them. What was even more surprising was, later after I changed her diaper I just put her on the floor to play and she went straight to him. On the other hand if another guy that was there looked at her she would freak. I don't understand my children sometimes.

I guess I should share the balls in my shirt story. I will be a good one for Colten later. I guess it was a couple of months ago now that the kids, Bethany and Colten, were putting two balls in their shirt and running around saying, "we are grown ups, we are grown ups." Once again I don't understand my children sometimes. Well a few weeks after that I dug in my closet for a shirt that I haven't been able to wear for a long time because, well, it just didn't fit. I'm not saying it fit great on this day, but I was able to wear it with confidence and not worry too much about the rolls. Usually my shirts are not tight, but on this day it was. Anyways, I was helping Colten get dressed and when he gave me a hug and his hand landed on my chest, breast, boob, udder, whatever you want to call it and all of a sudden Colten felt a need to continue grabbing me trying to look down my shirt because he was convinced that I had balls in my shirt. I guess I will have to wait a few more pounds before I can wear that shirt in public. I really don't want to replay that scene in the grocery store or something.

All in all we are doing good and as soon as I know all of the details to the puzzel pieces I will definately post out the future.

The Worst Mother Ever!!!

Bethany finally lost her tooth last night after dinner. Ok so maybe Adam pulled it out for her. She was so brave and cute at the same time. You had to be there, it was pretty funny. Anyways... When I was little our family had a tooth pillow that the fallen out teeth could go so the tooth fairy didn't have to wake anyone up. Also with 8 kids who could blame her. Sometimes teeth were lost without ever being told about it. Around Christmas Bethany discovered that her tooth was loose. Barely loose. So after Christmas I thought it would be fun if we made a tooth pillow. It isn't very big. 3x3in with a little pocket on the front of it. So last night we carefully placed the tooth in the pocket and set it on her dresser (out of Emma's reach) and then at bed time we were going to move it down. Well at bed time I forgot to move it. Bethany remembered after I had put her to bed, but I still forgot until almost my bedtime. I remembered when I was in the bathroom, but by the time I was out, my mind had wandered someplace else.

This morning rolls around and when I wake up Bethany for school, it has still slipped my mind until Bethany pops up and looks under her pillow. I asked her where was the tooth pillow. She informed my that the tooth pillow does not go under her pillow. Feeling horrible by this point, I asked her where it was and it was at the foot of her bed...with the tooth still in it. I told her that the tooth fairy must not have been able to find her tooth and that today we will have to leave a note for her.

I know it doesn't sound that bad. But people it was her first tooth. I can understand forgetting about the 5th,6th,or even the 7th, but the 1st no way. There is way too excitement involved that it is just unspeakable. If you never want to talk to me again I understand. Don't worry tonight the tooth fairy will redeem herself.

Slacker!!!

I'll say it for you...
I've been a slacker and I really can't pin down the reason why. I guess it is a whole lot of things.
The first couple of pictures are from Thanksgiving. The kids were having three legged races with themselves. Thanks to Adam for deep frying our turkey while I cooked the rest of the food. After our first big snow, Bethany played and played, but Colten was sick for a 1 1/2 weeks, but is now feeling tons better. Christmas was fun as the kids are getting bigger and they understand and are truly excited instead of confused. Although Emma was a little bit more facinated with the paper behind the couch and was pretty proud that she got it. (Yes Emma has bed head) On Christmas Day we got about 18 in. of snow. It would have taken Adam more than an hour to clear the snow if 2 neighbors with shovels and 1 with a snow blower hadn't come to help.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Dream Property

We have a wide variety of property to choose from. The home of your choice can be built at any location. If you don't like the colors featured you may pick from a wide variety. First come first serve. Supplies are limited so act fast.

This model does not include the adorable little boy...he's mine. This home would be great for family reunions in the white mountains.

If you appreciate a breeze then this one is for you.

If you like the breeze, but really like your privacy as well, this one will work perfectly.

Hate the breeze, but are insane about privacy, this will be the best option.
The underground bunker.

If you have a few animals in the family, we've even got an option for them.

Or you could choose this one.

So what does a 3 year old and his mom do while the older sister is in school and the younger sister is taking a nap...BUILD REAL ESTATE. Actually I built them (except the bunker) and Colten destroyed them. It was fun until Colten only wanted to destroy and not wait until I was done. He's a ticking time bomb for sure.

Two months

Honestly I didn't realized it had been two months since my last post until Megan said something. I even had to go back and check the date. No I haven't been as busy as some of you, but my brain has. My brain has been consumed with my visiting teaching assignment and my new calling as a bear den leader. Those two things and computer issues have really been keeping me away from the computer. Even as we speak [type/read], my computer is not working for who knows why. When Adam gets home I'll see if he can fix it. Anyways...I'll post pictures today since I haven't posted very many in the last who knows how many months. Enjoy!!

Bethany is such a good helper. She fed Emma for me for the first time and thought it was fun until she heard Adam and Colten playing down stairs then she "didn't enjoy doing this anymore"

Colten had his first birthday party on the 1st of November. Boy birthday parties are different than girl parties. When Bethany's friends come over they run all over the house and play with every toy in sight. When these little boys came over and they never left the kitchen and living room, unless they were going outside. It was kind of funny.

Emma did not appreciate having to wait while we carved pumpkins.

Evil Ed and Happy Hal

Colten is 3 now and was totally excited that the store had a cake that wasn't Halloween themed or girl comething. Yup this was the last boy cake.

Our happy boy who is so polite and never forgets to tell me thanks for dinner even if he doesn't like it. If he does like dinner he says, "mmm, this is so so so good."

Emma is almost 9 months now and is crawling and standing up to things. It is really easy to get her to laugh these days. It really is fun to play with her.

Another of Emma. I'm not sure when this picture was taken.

Bethany really likes school. She even likes the homework and would do all the weeks homework in one night if I let her. She loves to play school with Colten and Colten is a very willing recipient, most the time.

DO YOU THINK IT'S BEEN LONG ENOUGH?

Time really has gotten away with me. So much that I have had a hard time wanting to blog because there has been so much that has happened that it is a little overwhelming and will take forever to add the pictures and everything. So instead hear is a quick review of the last month or so. Of course Adam is home now and we are so glad. The day he came home was fun. The kids had made some things because the next day it was going to be his birthday so we just celebrated it all in the same day. We had banners and giant cookie and birthday hats and water balloons. As Adam got out of the truck the fight began. It was a fun day that I hope the kids always remember. Well, Bethany at least will. The next couple of weeks I finished the last dress (progress slowed down half way through the second dress) and started making preparations for our trip to AZ and for school to start. Adam's sister got married and it was so fun to go and visit with both sides of the family. One of the days there I spent the day with my sisters and Mom. It was fun to just be silly with them. After we got home, Bethany had different back to school stuff. And finally school started for both Adam and Bethany. Bethany really likes school and was a little bummed out the first couple of days when it was time to go home. (She only has half day) With all of these events you have to include a baby that isn't sleeping as much as she used to, but still creating as much laundry and spit up messes as she did before only now the mess is on the floor and not on me...some of the time. If you have a stomach left after having kids don't read this next part. I have to include this story because it is really gross.

On Sundays I get myself ready except I wait until the last minute to put my dress on. You know, because of the spit up. Well on this day I did the same as I always do and thank goodness because on this day I really wasn't spit up on before church or even at church. It came during the first hour. Emma was sitting on my laugh and started tooting. I thought no big deal she's been tooting without leaving a surprise in her diaper for me. So I paid to attention to it until my lap started to feel wet. Yep you guessed it. She pooped on my lap...A LOT!!! It was runny poop to and Adam grabbed the spit rag just in time to catch it before it ran onto the floor or bench. That day I had to go home and change. Emma somehow managed to only get a little bit of poop on her bloomers. So what do I do if I have to change into a third church outfit. Hopefully I never have to find out.

Bethany really likes school, but had to miss all of last week because she was sick and had a fever that just would not go away. She was oddly excited to get to do a urine sample. When the doc suggested her eyes lit up. Back when I was pregnant and had my multiple baby appt. she would always ask what I did at the doctors office and I didn't mention the pee in a cup part she would ask if I did that too. So weird. Well I think that brings to this week which no disasters have happened except for the laundry still needing to be put away and the kitchen a mess. Yep Amanda, I didn't put laundry away. I blogged instead. I guess the laundry will have to wait since Megan is sending threatening messages. :)
